If you are an extreme green person, what do you eat? Do you buy only organic products? Free range eggs to support happy chickens? Being vegan to save the planet? Somehow, modern society has mistaken that being healthy is the green activity. Although you can be healthy by eating good food, this activity doesn’t necessarily leading planet Earth (Gaia) healthy. Moreover, the Earth becomes unhealthy by having too many healthy spoiled human to sustain. So, what can we eat if we are extreme green guerrilla?

To be invisible in the natural system of food chain /food pyramid, E.G.G.s have developed GMO(genetically modified organisms) technology further, so that the minimum resource (animal/plants) can feed more people. they have modified wild animals to be beneficial to both human and animals. in this way, they don’t need to feed the animal.
//——————————————————-
Quoted from Report on 29th March:
Think about functionality, do the birds still need to fly, if so how
would your modification affect them. Also think about the story: Are they farmed or wild? Each choice leads to different decisions and modifications –farmed means that they need feeding themselves, wild means survival, use
this information to push the design process.

EGG GMO – aims and benefit-
Modified wild animals:
human benefit :
No CO2 emission to bring food down = local animals .
No need to feed.
Less number, feed more.
animal benefit:
Survival function evolved by modification, so that they don’t need to migrate too far away. = Stay local = Can be caught easier. More number of animals survive.

GMO:
1. GM soy contains significantly more of this allergen compared with natural soy. The British Medical Association had warned that GM foods might lead to the emergence of new allergies. 1.But why this GM fish is growing so fast?

Man has bypassed his natural evolutionary limitations through the development and application of technology.
p23
… Sheep at this time were fatty creatures, so a little breeding was necessary. this led to the Dishley, a breed characterised by a light bone structure and more lean meat in proportion to fat.
For animals who choose to base themselves within the reals of human babitation,being useful is a priority for them to have any chance of survival.
P24
… The GloFish is now legally sold in the United States as a novelty pet. This raises the question of how far animals are willing to divert from their natural forms and behavior to satisfy mankind. As emerging technologies become increasingly profound, the potential for extreme modification turns into a reality. … Ethical considerations aside, genetic modification will give breeders (designers?) more control, more turnover, and offer more radical possibilities than the natural methods of selective breeding.

The meat industry, with its dubious motives for profiteering, may eventually find more dramatic solutions; a recent news item highlighted the case of the Bald chicken;
Professor Avigdor Cahaner, who led the project, told the BBC; “this is not a genetically modified chicken- it comes from a natural vreed whose characteristics have been known for 50years.”the featherless birds would tend to be leaner, and perhaps grow faster, he said, which whould improve the quality of the meat and save producers money.

… the maximum efficiency of an animals is about ten per cent. This ten per cent factor is present at all stages of the food chain and means that in any environment a hundred herbivores can support only ten carnivores, and these ten carnivores can in turn support only one “second-stage” carmovpre. These fgures are oversimplified and refer to animals of the same size. The important factor is the weight of the animals rather than the number of individuals. The ten per cent factor holds true for every stage in the complicated pattern of food chains and is an important factor leading to the stable shape of the food pyramid.

… they were generally lightly built running animals, able to escape quickly from predators and with teeth particularly suited to cropping leaves and grasses. The ungulates were widely used by man for his ow purposes. Cows and goats were domesticated for mild and meat, sheep were bred for wool and the skins of many were used for leather. Horses and oxen were harnessed to work for man and become so dependent on him that they could no longer survive.
The deer, the wild ungulates of the temperate latitudes, fared little better, Vast tracts of temperate woodlands had been destroyed to make room for man’scities and to provide agricultural land. This interference with their numbers fell to a level from which they never recovered. What then could take their place? the whole ecological niche was vecant with nothing to exploit it. Which creature was best placed to take the initiative?
During the Age of Man a slamm-scale grazer was present that was so successful it was considered to be a pest. the rabbit wqs so seriously destructive of amn’s crops, that man made numerous attempts to control it and even attempted to exterminate it. Yet no matter what actions he took he never succeeded in getting rid of it completely.

The valuphant, Valudorsum gravum, is the largest ungulate … its most distinctive feature is the tall ridge running down its back and neck. The ridge is supported by the neural spines of the vertebrae and amay be of use in regulating the animal’s temperature.
